Videosoft Global is now an official member of Viasat’s Velaris Partner Network

The collaboration will empower advanced real-time video streaming via Viasat satellite communications terminals, providing reassurance to ground crews in areas with poor land coverage or difficult network conditions. This advancement enhances situational awareness to some of the most challenging environments on earth with ease!

One significant use of this technology is in search and rescue operations. Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) can swiftly reach the scene ahead of human crews, maintaining safety standards, and transmit live video feed to a central control room without relying on ground-based communication infrastructure.

Additionally, the technology could be used to provide real-time onboard monitoring of passengers to enhance comfort and safety. This system communicates with ground-based control centers and vertiports, catering to the future air taxi market.

Videosoft Global’s technology does more than just connect eyes and ears to uncrewed platforms; it provides unmatched video quality at significantly reduced data expenses.

Videosoft’s technology excels in live video streaming by utilising adaptive video compression and transmission to reduce data costs. It enables streaming from as low as 1kbps, expanding operational coverage while minimising data usage.

Videosoft Global’s user-friendly software enhances ease of use and integration for aviation operators. This ‘plug and play’ solution seamlessly operates on Viasat’s compact Velaris satcom terminal, known for its low size, weight, and power. The terminal is a collaborative effort between Viasat and Gotonomi.

“Our Velaris Partner Network continues to go from strength to strength, and this latest partnership builds on a years-long relationship with the team at Videosoft Global. This combination demonstrates our vision to include edge-compute capabilities inside the terminal hardware, which will provide a major advantage to software partners and end-users alike.”

Joel Klooster, SVP Flight Safety and AAM at Viasat.

“It’s a privilege to join Viasat’s esteemed Velaris Partner Network, and to bring our robust, secure, and uninterrupted video streaming software to Viasat’s customers and partners. We know how critical our turn-key solutions are to realizing the future of airspace, and this will only be enhanced further by partnering with such industry leaders as Viasat. Together, we plan to continue to innovate and bring novel solutions to the aviation industry.”
