Small Footprint. Big Tactical Advantage.
The FireBird™ F-100 LTE is compact and purpose-built for video monitoring, drones, UAVs, USVs, and civilian and government surveillance applications that require fast setup, high mobility, and connectivity even in low-bandwidth and congested environments.
FireBird™ F-100 LTE comes pre-installed with FireLight™, our bandwidth efficient video encoding software, which enables real-time video streaming at high resolution, up to 30fps full HD. If the network bandwidth drops, it adjusts the video encoding automatically, down to as little as 1 kbps, while maintaining usable image quality. Whether deployed on static sites, drones, tactical vehicles, or embedded in soldier kits, this unit provides continuous operational visibility anywhere, under any network condition.
Built for High-Mobility Operations
Running Videosoft’s FireLight™ software, the FireBird™ F-100 LTE enables real-time situational awareness by compressing and securely transmitting multiple video streams simultaneously. Each stream can be optimised for bandwidth, resolution, and latency in real-time, allowing mission commanders and operators to prioritise visibility from multiple angles without overwhelming the network.
With dimensions of 105 x 47 x 25 mm and weighing just 0.2 kg, the FireBird™ F-100 LTE is optimised for SWaP-constrained applications. It supports Ethernet camera input, making it ideal for remote deployments, robotics, UAV integrations, and tactical use. With its ultra-low power draw, the FireBird™ F-100 LTE enables fully autonomous battery-operated applications.
Seamless Streaming & Integration
Live streams and telemetry from the FireBird™ F-100 LTE can be accessed remotely via Videosoft’s secure client apps on Windows, Android, or iOS, and also existing third-party video management systems (VMS) via ONVIF and RTSP protocols. Whether part of a CCTV system, a tactical soldier kit, mounted on a drone, or operating aboard a patrol boat, the FireBird™ F-100 LTE connects seamlessly to industry-leading VMSs, ATAK, C2, and NATO ISR platforms.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the FireBird™ F-100 LTE, and who is it for?
The FireBird™ F-100 LTE is a compact video encoder designed for edge-based operations where size, weight, and power are limited. It’s ideal for military, law enforcement, border security, emergency responders, and ISR drone or maritime teams who need reliable, real-time video streaming from the field.
How does the FireBird™ F-100 LTE differ from the new FireBird™ F-100 5G?
While both models are built on the same robust platform and run the FireLight™ adaptive video streaming software, the FireBird™ F-100 LTE has an internal 4G LTE modem rather than a 5G one. It does not accept USB cameras and is slightly larger than the FireBird™ F-100 5G. It also has a slightly higher power draw at circa ~8.5W. It is still ideal for integration into vehicles, covert enclosures, and static surveillance systems, and is a slightly more cost-effective product if 5G is not a requirement.
Can the FireBird™ F-100 LTE operate effectively in low-bandwidth or challenging environments?
Yes, and that’s where it truly excels. With FireLight™ adaptive video compression, it can deliver quality real-time video streams at bandwidths from just 1 kbps. Even when deployed in contested or bandwidth-restricted areas, the FireBird™ F-100 LTE continues to function efficiently, recording video locally during dropouts and automatically reconnecting when connectivity is restored.
What types of cameras or sensors can be used with this device?
The FireBird™ F-100 LTE supports Ethernet (RJ45) video inputs, allowing operators to use a wide range of devices, from helmet-mounted cameras and EO/IR sensors to rugged thermal imagers, drone payloads, and any ONVIF/RTSP cameras. The flexibility to support multiple inputs provides teams with a broader range of video options from a single, compact encoder.
Is video transmission secured and compliant with military standards?
Absolutely. The FireBird™ F-100 LTE uses AES-256 encryption and complies with FIPS and NDAA standards. All video, telemetry, and control data are fully encrypted during transmission, ensuring mission-critical intelligence remains tamper-proof and secure.
How power efficient is the FireBird™ F-100 LTE, and why does it matter?
The unit consumes just 8.5W @ 12VDC, remarkably low for a tactical video encoder. This low draw extends operational runtime when using battery packs or portable power sources, eliminating the need for active cooling and making it ideal for lightweight deployments, such as concealments, soldier-worn kits, or UAV platforms.
Can it integrate into our current VMS or command-and-control system?
Yes. FireBird™ F-100 LTE is designed to integrate seamlessly into existing ecosystems. It supports ONVIF and RTSP protocols, enabling compatibility with third-party video management systems through the bridge, and connects easily with ATAK, C2 platforms, and NATO-standard ISR tools. Remote access is also available through Videosoft’s secure client apps for Windows, Android, and iOS.
What happens to the footage if the network connection fails mid-stream?
No footage is lost. The FireBird™ F-100 LTE includes edge-based local recording, meaning all video is stored onboard during connection loss. Once the network is re-established, it automatically resumes streaming and can deliver the recorded footage on demand, ensuring no gaps in situational awareness.
How quickly can it be deployed in the field?
Thanks to its plug-and-play design, the FireBird™ F-100 LTE is fully operational within minutes. Connect your video source, power on the device, and it starts streaming, no complicated configuration or setup required. This makes it ideal for rapid deployment in high-pressure or time-sensitive operations.
Can I use it with Mesh Radios, BGAN terminals and other network equipment?
Yes. The FireBird™ F-100 LTE supports mesh radio or satellite communications (satcom) integration and performs exceptionally well over BGAN and other mobile satellite systems. FireLight™ software optimizes the video for these links, keeping the live streams stable and viewable even on narrow satellite channels.
