Videosoft Global & Marine AI: Enabling Low-Bandwidth Video Streaming for Maritime Autonomy
We’re proud to be working alongside Marine AI to deliver ultra-reliable low-bandwidth video streaming capabilities for autonomous and remote maritime operations.
Our longstanding partnership began during the development of Marine AI’s first autonomous platform, Mayflower, and has continued to evolve through the integration of our ultra-low bandwidth streaming technology into Marine AI’s latest autonomous systems.
Solving Connectivity Challenges at Sea
The unpredictable nature of operating offshore presents a variety of unique communication challenges. Reliable and high-quality video transmission is critical for situational awareness, remote control and operational decision making, yet offshore bandwidth is often limited and expensive – particularly when relying on satellite communications.
By using Videosoft’s advanced video compression and data streaming technology, we’re enabling highly efficient, secure, real-time video delivery without compromising performance, even in the most remote environments.
Fully Integrated with GuardianAI™ ORION

Our technology is fully integrated into GuardianAI™ Inspect, part of Marine AI’s GuardianAI™ ORION autonomy control suite.
The integration enables operators to manage video feeds across autonomous and remote operations through a unified command-and-control environment, while supporting flexible deployment across multiple vessel and platform types.
Supporting Advanced Inspection and CV Workflows
The system also plays a key role in supporting Computer Vision (CV) and inspection workflows. Video streams can be processed both onboard the vessel and within the Remote Operations Centre (ROC), and during post-processing activities, enabling advanced inspection capabilities while maintaining low data transmission requirements.

Demonstrated at Oceanology International
Our collaboration was demonstrated at Oceanology International, where we streamed live video feeds from the Oceanus 12 in Plymouth Sound alongside a live drone feed. Using GuardianAI™ Inspect, operators were able to monitor multiple camera streams, providing real-time situational awareness through the user interface.
As a result, we have been able to significantly improve video compression efficiency, stream stability, and vessel connectivity across multiple communication channels, including satellite networks.

Videosoft Global & Marine AI: Driving Innovation Forward Together
By combining Marine AI’s autonomy platform with our expertise in video compression and streaming, we are enabling:
- Reliable real-time video over constrained maritime networks
- Reduced satellite communication costs
- Enhanced operational visibility and safety
- Scalable video solutions for autonomous and remote operations
The collaboration reflects a continued focus on enabling reliable situational awareness and operational visibility for autonomous and remote maritime operations. We’re excited to see how we can drive further innovation for our customers through this partnership.
