FireLight™ is Videosoft’s core software platform, the foundation for adaptive, secure, real-time video compression and transmission across any wireless network, including satellite, LTE/5G, mesh, and radio. Built to run on a wide range of processors and operating under Linux, Windows and Android OS, it enables organizations to capture, compress, and stream live video in environments where traditional systems cannot perform due to bandwidth constraints.

As a software solution, FireLight™ delivers the performance that drives every Videosoft deployment. It can be installed directly on your existing edge devices, embedded within third-party hardware, or preloaded onto our turnkey FireBird™ encoders. This flexibility allows you to deploy rapidly, scale operations, and maintain complete control, without relying on specialist, proprietary hardware or fixed infrastructure.

FireLight’s adaptive compression continuously measures network bandwidth and adjusts video encoding in real time, from as little as 1 kbps up to multi-Mbps, maintaining live visibility even when connections degrade. This allows you to stream from anywhere, to anywhere provided there’s even a whiff of a network connection.

    FireLight™ dynamically balances frame rate, resolution, and compression to ensure the lowest latency and smooth, uninterrupted video delivery.
  • Edge-to-Centre Control and Management
    Its modular design connects multiple field gateways to a secure Control Centre Service (CCS), maintaining continuous communication and control from edge assets to command systems. This can be deployed as a local in-field, on-premise or cloud based architecture.
  • Secure by Design
    Encryption, user authentication, and licence management are built into the software framework, ensuring data integrity and protection across sensitive and mission-critical operations.

The platform has been optimized for x64 standard 64-bit CPUs, ARMv7 legacy 32-bit processors used in embedded and IoT devices, and AArch64 (ARMv8) modern 64-bit ARM cores powering platforms such as:

Raspberry Pi (4, CM4, 5, CM5), NVIDIA (Nano, TX2, Xavier NX, AGX Xavier, Orin NX/Nano, AGX Orin), Qualcomm RB5, and ruggedized military hardware including the Glenair STAR-PAN™ NG Hub and Eslight Halo’s connectivity platform. This compatibility enables seamless deployment across industrial gateways, SBCs, containerised systems, and specialised edge-AI hardware.

It integrates seamlessly with third-party hardware to deliver reliable power distribution and secure data connectivity across mission-critical devices. This combination enables rapid setup, simplified field wiring, and resilient video streaming over tactical edge networks, all managed through a unified platform.

Fully compatible with industry standards such as ONVIF and RTSP, FireLight™ connects effortlessly to existing video infrastructure. It integrates with leading VMS platforms including Milestone and Genetec, as well as Command & Control systems, GIS mapping tools, ISR platforms, and ATAK. This broad compatibility allows FireLight™ to extend its capabilities across defence, energy, government, and industrial operations , wherever reliable, real-time visibility is essential.
